The Ithuba Skills College was founded 2008 and is a new school located in a very poor townnship south east of Johannesburg. Starting at 8th grade, the school teaches the foundations of subjects like English, Math, Sciences among others, but teaches also practical skills like masonry, carpenting, electrical installations, as well as creative forms of expression such as dance & theater.
PAINT FOR LIFE supports this school project by financing the construction of the multifunctional „hall“ (classroom). The hall has been built in the summer of 2008 by students of the
RWTH Aachen (faculty for architecture at the Fakultät Rheinisch-westphälischen Technical College.) This building will not only provide a useful infrastructure for everyday classes, but will also be the location to present artistic works of the students.
